The Trakt Pamieci (Path of Remembrance)

The Path of Remembrance is a route laid out from the junction of Anielewicza and Zamenhofa streets (near the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes in Heroes of the Ghetto Square) to the Umschlagplatz. A significant part of the route consists of 16 black syenite blocks with Polish, Hebrew and Yiddish inscriptions commemorating various individuals, events and places connected with the ghetto. It was created in 1988 to mark the 45th anniversary of the Ghetto Uprising.
The block in the photograph is the one next to the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes.
