Ulica Waliców

Plaque on Waliców Street marking one of the borders of the Small Ghetto. Both photographs above look west. The wall of the surviving building may have formed the western border of the ghetto at this point, while the wall across the road referred to on the plaque would have formed the southern border. The apartment house below is on the other side of the road. This photograph was taken facing east. The house would have been within the Small Ghetto.

The damage to the wall above is too far south to date from the 1943 Ghetto Uprising. The shrapnel damage must date from the 1944 Warsaw Uprising.

The best preserved surviving portion of ghetto wall is at 55 Sienna Street.
